Internet Marketing Success Takes Focus

I don’t do this often, but I shot a video the other day about something that was on my mind. I don’t like doing videos because, well I have a face for radio, and a voice for…I don’t know what, but not for videos 🙂

It has to do with internet marketing and focus. Some of you probably need to hear this. I have also included the text below for you readers.

This is the one thing I am focused on.

I’ve been doing some internet marketing for a while, I do it part-time as I try to make this thing work full-time. I’ve been around a while, got a few gray hairs, and I really enjoy doing my marketing online.

I’ve tried everything, pretty much everything, online, and I’ve had some success with quite a few things, which is encouraging.

I’ve tried affiliate marketing, I’ve created websites and tried to sell them. I’ve created sites with content and then tried getting them ranked with Google, (which gets harder and harder everyday) trying to make some money with Google Adsense, or as an Amazon affiliate on those sites. Amazon and Google pay diddly-squat by the way, so you need a ton of traffic to make that work.

I’ve tried selling t-shirts, which actually worked really well for a while, but it gets difficult because you really have to come up with new ideas all the time. Since I am not the most creative person in the world, artistically, that was a bit difficult.

I’ve had some limited success with all of those, but never really had any long-term success. I was recently thinking – why is that?

I think I know the answer and it’s kind of hard to face. Maybe you’ve faced this as well, but really it has to do with focus. It’s really easy to get distracted when you’re on the internet. You see some new and great thing pop up, and it’s like “oh I should try that, that’ll work”.

So you do try it and it might work, it might work for a while, it might even work long term if you spend the time and energy working it. I mean actually working it, and staying focused on that one thing.

But I’ve got a problem with focus. I’ll try this new thing, I’ll work it for a little while, and if it’s not really paying off as quickly as I like, I’ll let it go and move on to the “next great thing”.

About six months ago, I just really realized that I was just spinning my wheels, and mainly it’s because of a lack of focus. Just a lack of focus!

I had not spent enough time doing one thing, and doing it well, in order to really make it work. So I thought, “okay what do I want to do?” What do I want to focus on?

For me it’s affiliate marketing. With affiliate marketing you don’t have to create a product, you don’t have to do support. You can help people out, you help teach them how to use the product, but you don’t have to support problems that may come up. internet-marketing-focus

You don’t have to worry about collecting money, refunds anything like that. So, affiliate marketing is really a good way to go when trying to make money online. And like anything, there are downsides. I’ve found with affiliate marketing, you are constantly having to find new products to promote. The best way to promote an affiliate product, is to write a review about it. That takes time.

If you want to do a good review, it really helps if you can get access to the product. You’ve either got to buy it, which costs money that you may not make back. Or you have to hope that the vendor will let you review the product for free. Getting a review copy is a challenge if you’re not an established well-known internet marketer.

Plus I have found that when trying to get approved to be an affiliate with a lot of these products, the vendors are not very responsive with that.

If you want to do launch jacking, where you create a review, and you release the review as soon as the product comes out, a lot of times you won’t have your affiliate link when the product is released.

It’s easy to get discouraged with that, and constantly having to find and review new products is time consuming and frustrating.

Then I found something, actually kind of by accident, that I really liked. It was a platform that marketers need, and it pays monthly which is great! So I bought this product and went all in with it.

I liked the affiliate pay strategy, and I discovered that I really liked the tools on this platform.

I like that it pays recurring income, so you do the work once and you get paid month after month after month. It’s the type of product where when people use it, they build their presence on that product platform, and they’re probably not going to leave, which is just really awesome.

Another thing that I really like about it is that it pays a hundred percent commission’s upfront, and the commission’s are fairly significant.

They’re not huge commissions, but they’re significant enough, that you can afford to spend a fair amount of money to get leads, to make that initial sale and make your money back.

Then as long as they stay on the product, you get a monthly recurring income off of that.

This is a real business that I can work now, I can build it, and I can use it for my retirement income. I can leave it to my children when I’m ready to stop working it.

So I’ve decided to just really, really focus on just this one thing and work it hard. I’ve been doing that, and I’ve been having some pretty good success with it lately.

The success is really only coming because I focused on one thing, and I’m not going all over the place, getting distracted with each new and fun thing to try. Focusing on this internet-marketing-successone thing, building traffic for this one thing, buying traffic for this one thing.

I almost forgot to mention something that is a real bonus about this this program that I’m in. You get paid on the second tier, so as I introduce people to this business, and they introduce others, I get paid. This is an affiliate business, it’s not a MLM or anything like that.

I have nothing against those, but that’s not what this is. It’s just a two tier affiliate program. And as I introduce other people to the program, when they start building their business, and start introducing the program to their contacts and prospects, I also get paid on that second tier.

This is a rarity in affiliate marketing. It’s a real good way to really explode your affiliate income.

This is the program/product I am promoting. I encourage you to check it.

The main thing I wanted to focus on today is, focus! Find something and stick with it. Stick with it long enough to make it work for you, because if you’re just jumping from program to program, like I have done so many times, you’re just not gonna get very far. You really need to find that one thing and focus on it

Okay, that’s my rant for the day. Have a great one.
